He is currently holding fourth position in the Diamond League standings.

Less than two weeks after bagging his second medal in the Olympics, India's javelin star Neeraj Chopra is set to participate in the Lausanne Diamond League. Neeraj will be hoping for a first-place finish after throwing his season-best 89.45 meters to win the silver medal in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The 2020 Gold medalist fell short of Arshad Nadeem’s record-breaking throw of 92.97 at the Paris Games. While Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won't be part of the competition, The 26-year-old will face competition from Kenya's Julius Yego, Granada's Anderson Peters, and Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch. All these potential medalists have crossed the 90 mark already.

The 90 mark is still an unachieved target for India’s Golden Boy Chopra and fans worldwide hope that his comeback will be greater than the setback. Despite coming from an injury his only registered throw helped him clinch the silver medal. There were a plethora of emotions after his heartbreak to have not been able to defend his gold medal and create a legacy unmatched and never thought of. He is currently holding fourth position in the Diamond League standings. He will require a top-six finish to secure a spot in the Diamond League Final in Brussels next month. Neeraj had a limited performance in Diamond Leagues this season following a groin injury.
