Charlotte Flair who is a 14-time world champion is gearing up for a highly anticipated title match at WrestleMania 41. Flair, who has been out of action for over 300 days and hasn’t competed in nearly a year. Known as the face of the Women's division for the past seven years, her return is eagerly awaited.
After suffering an ACL tear at the Survivor Series War Games in 2023, Flair has been focused on her recovery. While fans have heard rumors about her possible return, she has yet to receive medical clearance. However, there’s growing excitement that she could make her comeback either at the Survivor Series War Games 2024 or in the Women's Royal Rumble, both of which would surely generate a huge reaction given her long absence.
In May, WWE, in conjunction with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, announced that Las Vegas will host WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Who will be her opponent?
As for her opponent at WrestleMania 41, Flair is recognized as one of the most dominant women in wrestling history, holding the world title 14 times—six more than her closest competitor, Becky Lynch. Interestingly, both women have been sidelined for the last four months, but Flair’s break has been notably longer.
The details about her potential opponent remain uncertain. Currently, the titles are held by Liv Morgan and Nia Jax on Raw and Smackdown, respectively. Given that Flair was primarily on Smackdown during her active days, it’s possible she could challenge the Smackdown champion upon her return.
Adding to the intrigue, Tiffany Stratton is on the verge of cashing in her Money in the Bank contract, and Rhea Ripley may have her sights set on reclaiming the title from Morgan. This means Flair could potentially face either Morgan or Ripley when she returns to the ring.
In a recent segment on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, WrestleVotes was asked about a possible match between Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 41. While that matchup hasn’t been confirmed, they did mention, “Another WrestleMania question, that’s a good one. I haven’t heard too much…about potential women’s matches at WrestleMania. I do know that Charlotte Flair is going to be in the fold and at the top of any women’s wrestling card that they present for WrestleMania.”
Flair has previously made significant contributions to WrestleManias 38 and 39, facing notable opponents like Ronda Rousey and Rhea Ripley. As of now, there’s no clear timeline for when she will return to action, but her fans are hopeful that it will be soon.
