WWE superstar John Cena has revealed that he will be competing in the upcoming 2025 Royal Rumble, marking the beginning of his farewell tour. The announcement came during his return on WWE Raw’s Netflix debut on Monday. The 16-time world champion’s appearance on WWE Raw was significant, as Cena confirmed his participation in the Royal Rumble match scheduled for February 1, 2025. This marks the beginning of his farewell tour, which will culminate in his retirement from WWE.

During his announcement, Cena also took a moment to express gratitude towards Netflix for securing the rights to broadcast WWE Raw. He said, "Thank you, Netflix, for allowing the world to see the experience of Monday Night Raw."

Opportunity for 17th World Championship at Royal Rumble

Although Cena is set to compete for the chance to become a 17-time world champion, he downplayed the likelihood of winning, stating, “That’s never gonna happen.” Regardless, Cena’s participation in the 30-man Royal Rumble match provides him with the potential opportunity to challenge for the WWE title at WrestleMania 41, should he win the Rumble. If he fails to win, Cena can still earn another shot at the title by emerging victorious in the Elimination Chamber matches.
