Jon Jones returned to the Octagon in November at UFC 309.

Jon Jones is deemed as the unanimous GOAT in the sport of MMA.

Jon Jones has emerged to 'flex' on his opponents after Alex Pereira failed to defend his fourth light heavyweight title against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313. Jones was one of the names Pereira considered if he defeated Ankalaev, but that fight now appears unlikely. "Poatan" lost a disappointing decision to 'Big Ank,' erasing any momentum that could have won him a UFC super fight against Bones. Bones is expected to return to the Octagon soon. He may eventually give the fans what they want, which is a fight against the Interim Heavyweight titleholder Tom Aspinall.

On March 10, Jones posted a photograph of himself on Instagram with the caption, "More title defenses than any other current male champion combined,". Jones added a shrugging emoji to his caption and said, "Small flex."

Jones chose an appropriate time to reveal this data, as three of the eight men's categories have recently crowned or vacated winners. He's also focusing on his light heavyweight championship defenses (11) to build his heavyweight legacy. Jones may also have had 14 light heavyweight defenses if he hadn't failed drug tests and vacated the belt due to criminal activity.

With Pereira out of the picture, Jones should face Aspinall next. Since capturing the interim heavyweight title in November 2023, Aspinall has been the sole potential contender. As the interim titleholder, Aspinall is entitled to an unchallenged shot. Dana White, the CEO of UFC, wants Jones-Aspinall to fight this summer. Despite this, the bout may not go ahead because Jones has retired and vacated the crown.
