Paddy Pimblett breaks his silence more than a week after suffering a tough defeat to Justin Gaethje at UFC 324.

The UFC lightweight addresses fan concerns by providing a direct update on his post-fight condition.

Paddy Pimblett has finally addressed concerns surrounding his health following a punishing defeat to Justin Gaethje at UFC 324.

More than a week after the high-profile clash, the Liverpool native offered fans a direct update, shedding light on the physical toll of the fight and dispelling speculation surrounding the extent of his injuries.

A career-defining night at UFC 324

UFC 324 marked the biggest bout of Pimblett’s career to date. The 31-year-old headlined the event against Justin Gaethje in a fight contested for the interim lightweight title, signaling a major step into the elite tier of the division.

However, the contest proved to be a difficult one for “The Baddy,” as Gaethje’s experience and pressure dictated much of the action.

Gaethje largely controlled the fight en route to victory, becoming the first fighter in UFC history to win the interim lightweight championship twice.

For Paddy Pimblett, the loss was his most comprehensive setback inside the Octagon, prompting immediate concern from fans over the visible damage he absorbed.

Injury concerns spark fan worry

In the days following UFC 324, Pimblett’s condition became a talking point online after his wife shared images highlighting facial injuries sustained during the bout.

The photos sparked widespread concern, with many questioning how badly the British fighter had been hurt in Las Vegas.

Now back home and spending time with his family, Pimblett has begun easing back into routine, including light strength and conditioning work.

With emotions settling, he chose to address the speculation directly in a video posted to his YouTube channel.

Paddy Pimblett provides health update

Offering reassurance, Pimblett played down fears about serious facial injuries while acknowledging one lingering issue.

“Just thought I’d get you all an update on what’s going down with me, everyone thought my face was a mess, listen, my face is sound, I’ve got a little bit of bruising,” Paddy Pimblett said.

However, the lightweight contender revealed that his eyes remain a concern following multiple incidents during the fight.

“The only thing that’s wrong with me is my eyeballs from fingernails scratching my eyeballs but you know, we get on with it… I haven’t watched it back yet, I’m still quite annoyed at myself and quite a lot of other things surrounding the fight but we’ll watch it back.”

Pimblett suggested he may have suffered a scratched cornea, pointing to repeated eye pokes that went unnoticed during the contest.

“There’s a couple of things in that fight that have p—– me off but you know, we get on with it, there’s nothing we can do… There’s nothing wrong with me, the only thing that’s up with me is I’ve probably got a scratched cornea or something like that.”

While the loss to Gaethje was a sobering moment, Paddy Pimblett’s update confirms he avoided major long-term damage.

As he processes the defeat and prepares to review the fight, attention will soon shift toward what comes next in his UFC journey.
