In an interview during India Today's Mumbai 2024 Conclave, Navdeep Singh saw the humorous side of the comparisons drawn between him and former India captain Virat Kohli. Known for his passionate and outspoken demeanor on the field, Kohli has been a subject of admiration and scrutiny for his expressive nature.

 

"People started calling me mini Kohli, Virat Kohli 2.0, but please do not watch the video with sound on," Navdeep said during the Conclave.

Navdeep Singh broke Paralympics record to win gold

 

In Paris, Navdeep achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the Paralympics record in the javelin F41 category. His powerful throw of 47.32 meters surpassed the previous record held by China's Pengxiang Sun from Tokyo 2021. Initially, Navdeep finished in second place, with Iran's Beit Sadegh claiming the gold medal with a throw of 47.64 meters. However, a dramatic turn of events unfolded when Sadegh was disqualified due to unsporting conduct after displaying a controversial flag following his victory. This disqualification propelled Navdeep to the top spot, securing the gold medal.

The Haryana-born athlete, standing at a height of just 4 feet 4 inches, has captured the admiration of many with his extraordinary achievements, showcasing his unwavering grit and determination.
