The WWE SmackDown that aired on February 21, had one surprise interference in its live broadcast. Fans watching on the USA Network shortly saw the broadcast suddenly cut out at the Women's Championship match between Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae. A report from Wrestle Zone specifies that this blackout was caused during the event by a wardrobe malfunction with Stratton, whose top slipped out of place while fighting for the title in the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
While the USA Network showed only a black tape for censoring, the unedited moment reportedly continues to be visible over Netflix. WWE hasn't made any statements yet regarding the incident, proceeding with the episode's schedule without these interruptions.
Charlotte Flair Tempts WrestleMania Showdown
Charlotte Flair was present at ringside, as Stratton landed a strike in exchange with LeRae, during which Stratton managed to finally retain her WWE Women's Championship. But soon after, Nia Jax jetted into the ring and unleashed a serious beating on the champ.
As Stratton lay on the ring floor, Charlotte Flair was seen pointing towards the WrestleMania sign, hinting about their upcoming match in the premium live event, and firing up the crowd with a memory of the high-stakes showdown set for WrestleMania.
In fact, prior to her matchup with Flair, Stratton will be teaming with WWE legend Trish Stratus to battle against Jax and LeRae at the upcoming Elimination Chamber event in women's tag team action.
As for Stratton's thoughts regarding Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania in the current time of his career:
In a recent interview with the Toronto Sun, Stratton was thrilled about the upcoming Elimination Chamber match in which she said, "This would have been my first Elimination Chamber experience; I wouldn't have changed anything. I think last year, that's where I started to break out. I'm just really excited going into Elimination Chamber alongside Trish Stratus as my tag team partner, and hopefully, we will beat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae at this year's event in Toronto on March 1."
With WrestleMania now on the horizon for Stratton and her championship match against Charlotte Flair, she has given props to the multi-time champion: "Charlotte is my inspiration," added Stratton. "She was the one I saw on Friday Night SmackDown, doing all these cool tricks and flips in the ring, and immediately I was like, she kinda reminds me of myself."
Triple H on The Rock's Tie-up Return: He further said, WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, then stated that "everything can change in a moment" when he commented on the return of The Rock at SmackDown. With this, however, come great expectations for high drama and even greater anticipation in fans waiting for WrestleMania.
