Jannik Sinner found himself in a humorous mix-up during a recent interview when he appeared to confuse a popular language-learning app with the dating platform Bumble. The World No. 1 tennis player indulged in discussing tools to help him learn Spanish.

The Italian star, who has been working on his Spanish skills ahead of tournaments in Spanish-speaking regions, was asked about language apps. He responded by mentioning Duolingo and then "Babble," before the interviewer gently corrected him that "Bumble is a dating app." 

Sinner immediately clarified with a smile:

"No, Babbel! I don’t need a dating app."

Meanwhile, Sinner regained his top spot in the ATP Rankings recently when he defeated arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz at the final of the Monte Carlo Masters. The Spaniard had a chance to snatch the ranking at the Barcelona Open but was unfortunately injured, which has ruled him out of the French Open and Italian Open 2026.
