Carlos Alcaraz’s recent reaction towards arch-rival Jannik Sinner is going viral on the internet right now. The two are in Melbourne for the 1st Grand Slam of the year. Alcaraz and Sinner took part in the Australian Open’s $1 million ‘One Point Slam’.
Alcaraz's hilarious reaction as announcer mistakenly calls Sinner World No. 1 at Australian Open
During the competition, the interviewer starts speaking and accidentally calls Sinner the current World No. 1. The Italian immediately corrects him, gesturing denial with his hands. As he pointed out the mistake without any attitude, Alcaraz, who was standing right next to the four-time major champion, reacted with a big, amused laugh.
Meanwhile, the two are hot favourites to win the Australian Open 2026 along with Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz and Sinner were also the favourites to win the ‘One Point Slam,’ but neither of them managed to clinch it as amateur Jordan Smith shocked the world.
Alcaraz, who is yet to win the major in Melbourne will attempt to deny Sinner’s three-peat. The 24-year-old has won the last two Grand Slams in Australia and hopes to defend the title to win his third in a row.
