On social media, a fan made a joke about World No. 13 Holger Rune getting "ADHD medication". The post gathered attention and elicited a severe response from Brazilian professional Karue Sell, who took jabs at his peers for allegedly using methamphetamines.

Sell, ranked 274th in the world, usually competes on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Futures circuit. The 31-year-old, who also has a YouTube account, played his first pro-tour match at this year's Rio Open, losing to Argentina's Camilo Ugo Carabelli in three sets.

Karue Sell has also been a vocal critic of doping in tennis, claiming that the sport is "not clean".

The Brazilian feels that many athletes are abusing the ambiguity in anti-doping regulations by taking stimulant medicines designed to treat ADHD.

In that perspective, Sell's latest post on X, in which he quote-reposted a fan's message mocking Holger Rune after the Dane advanced to the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Masters on Tuesday (March 11), is scarcely surprising.

"Holger Rune on ADHD medicaton is easily a top 3 player on the tour," the fan in question wrote on X.

In the caption, the three-time ITF titlist accused several players of using methamphetamines while poking fun at their dependency on it.

"Lol. Just a bunch of players on methamphetamines.. But sure, they 'need it'. Can't live their lives without it," Karue Sell wrote in his repost of the fan's post about Holger Rune on Wednesday.
