Los Angeles Chargers are managing a lengthy injury report ahead of their high-stakes Week 17 matchup against the Houston Texans at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, December 27.
With playoff positioning on the line, Los Angeles enters the contest with multiple roster concerns across offense, defense, and special teams.
Despite the overall volume of injuries, Chargers received positive news regarding several key starters who were full participants in practice.
Still, four players have already been ruled out, while others carry questionable designations that could influence game-day decisions.
Chargers players ruled out vs Texans
Los Angeles will be without four contributors for the Texans clash, limiting depth in key areas.
Offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury after failing to practice. Salyer has appeared in six games this season and his absence further stresses Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive line rotation.
Safety R.J. Mickens will miss the game with a shoulder injury. Mickens has recorded 24 tackles and two interceptions in 2025, making his absence notable in the secondary.
Cornerback Benjamin St-Juste is also sidelined with a shoulder issue. He has contributed 27 tackles, one interception, and six passes defended this season.
Wide receiver Derius Davis rounds out the inactive list, remaining out with an ankle injury after appearing in 10 games during the campaign.
Questionable players to monitor
Three Chargers are listed as questionable entering the weekend.
Running back Kimani Vidal is dealing with a neck injury and was limited in practice. Vidal has been a steady contributor, rushing for 631 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensive lineman Teair Tart is managing a groin injury and also practiced in a limited capacity.
Offensive guard Mekhi Becton, listed with a knee issue, was a full participant in practice, increasing his chances of playing. Becton has appeared in four games this season.
Key starters trending toward availability
Several high-impact players remain on the injury report but practiced fully, suggesting they are expected to play.
Quarterback Justin Herbert, who is dealing with a hand issue, logged full practice participation. Herbert has thrown for 3,491 yards and 25 touchdowns while adding 461 rushing yards.
Veteran pass rusher Khalil Mack, wide receiver Keenan Allen, and linebacker Bud Dupree were also full participants despite rest or minor injury designations.
Cornerback Donte Jackson and offensive lineman Trey Pipkins similarly practiced without limitations.
With kickoff approaching, Los Angeles Chargers appear cautiously optimistic, though final inactive decisions could shape the outcome against Houston.
