San Francisco 49ers players ruled out vs Chicago Bears
San Francisco will be without two players for Sunday night.
Renardo Green (CB) has been ruled out due to a neck injury. Despite limited participation in practice, the defensive back will not suit up after recording 52 tackles and nine passes defended during the 2025 season.
Kurtis Rourke (QB) is also out with a knee injury. Although he was a full participant in practice, the team has confirmed he will miss the Week 17 matchup.
Questionable 49ers to watch
The biggest name on the injury report is George Kittle (TE), who is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Kittle did not participate in practice and enters the game after posting 52 receptions for 599 yards and seven touchdowns this season. His status will be closely monitored leading up to kickoff.
Ricky Pearsall (WR) is also questionable due to a knee injury. Pearsall was limited in practice and has totaled 31 receptions for 443 yards in 2025.
Yetur Gross-Matos (DL) remains questionable as well after limited practice participation because of a knee issue.
49ers expected to play
Several key contributors practiced fully and are trending toward availability.
Christian McCaffrey (RB) appeared on the report for rest purposes but was a full participant. He has been central to the offense with 1,039 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, along with 92 receptions for 849 yards and seven scores.
Trent Williams (OT) also practiced fully while listed for rest and is expected to play after appearing in five games this season.
Defensive contributors Sam Okuayinonu and Tatum Bethune both logged full practices and are on track to be available Sunday night.
As kickoff approaches, George Kittle’s status remains the most significant storyline for San Francisco 49ers as they prepare for a high-profile Week 17 clash.
