The Super Bowl LIX is scheduled to take place on February 9, 2025.

Having taken his team to distinguished success already, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid now stands on the cusp of attaining a feat that no coach in the history of the NFL has ever achieved. On Sunday, the Chiefs will contend for their third consecutive Super Bowl title, an accomplishment which would distance the dominating reign of the team by a mile from the rest, a loss to the Eagles however would go down as a failed once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Regardless of what transpires at the grandest stage, Andy Reid's legacy is cemented within the franchise, and with nothing more left for him to achieve, there are speculations that the 66-year-old could walk away from the game following Super Bowl LIX.

When asked about his future, Andy Reid said, "I enjoy being around the guys,'' Andy Reid said as the Chiefs prepared for Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles. "I enjoy the football games. You can't put in the hours that we do and not enjoy it. So, I really love the game.''

Kansas City Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt paid heed to the situation of Andy Reid and expressed optimism about him continuing to lead the Chiefs as the coach in the future. As of 2025, Reid has racked up 301 career wins and has three Super Bowl championships on his resume.

"He's always said that he'll know when the time is right and I'm sure he'll share it with me before he shares it with everyone else,'' Hunt said. "At least I hope so, but I don't sense that he's anywhere close to being done.''

Andy Reid, who turns 67 next month, will face his former franchise in the Super Bowl LIX. Reid coached Philly for 14 seasons before joining the Chiefs in 2013. Hunt is confident that Reid will remain the coach of the Chiefs following the end of the season and thus the need to prepare a list of replacement candidates hasn't arrived yet.

"I don't think we're close enough to that point where you have to keep that ready list,'' Hunt said. "A lot changes every year in terms of the coaching landscape, so I think that's premature.''
