West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell is set to announce his international retirement during the T20I series against Australia. The Kolkata Knight Riders star has been included in West Indies' T20I squad to face Australia in a five-match series, but reportedly, the second T20I will be his international swansong.

As per ESPNcricinfo, the opening two games at Sabina Park in Jamaica, Russell's home ground, will be his farewell to the international game.

Russell is representing the Caribbean in only T20Is since 2019 and currently has 84 caps. He announced his retirement seven months before the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be hosted by India in Sri Lanka in February 2026.  West Indies are scheduled to play a five-match T20I series against Australia which is scheduled to start from July 21.

The two matches at Sabina Park will be his farewell from the Caribbean side, as he will not travel for the other three matches of the series in St Kitts. He’s scored 1,078 runs in the shortest format with a strike rate of 163 and a high score of 71 while picking up 61 wickets in 73 innings, including a career best three for 19.
