Cowherd says Mahomes has been less accurate and inconsistent, calling him a “problem” for Kansas City.

Chiefs aim to bounce back in Week 12 against an impressive 8-2 Indianapolis Colts side.

Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs faced a 22-19 defeat against the Denver Broncos in Week 11 on Sunday. It was Kansas City's second back-to-back loss, leaving the team on a 5-5 record, with some work to do in the playoffs.

Amid the Chiefs' blows, expert Colin Cowherd has said that their star quarterback, Mahomes, might be the issue, while comparing him to Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, who secured the MVP award last season.

"Let's be totally frank about the Chiefs, and this is a weird thing to say, but part of Kansas City's problem is Patrick Mahomes," Cowherd said on his "The Herd" show on Tuesday. "In the last two seasons, he has not been in Josh Allen's galaxy. Josh has been more accurate, Josh gets to the end zone more, Josh uses his legs to a greater degree, and he's just a better runner right now. Mahomes is not.

"And Patrick's become kind of a bad road quarterback this year. This year, he's 4-1 at home, on the road, he barely completes 60% of his throws. ... So I do think part of the Chiefs' underachievement this year is on Mahomes. He's been less consistent, less accurate. Some of it's the right tackle position, but Bo Nix is 5-0 this year when trailing in the fourth, Mahomes is 0-5 this year trailing in the fourth, that can't be all just a coincidence."

Mahomes has registered 2,625 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions this season. He also has 288 yards and four TDs on 48 carries.

Mahomes has led the Chiefs to five Super Bowls and won three. He was on the way to complete a historic three-peat of Super Bowl wins, bit Kansas City lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game last season.

Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will face the Indianapolis Colts (8-2) in week 12 of the season on Sunday. The game is set to start at 1 pm ET from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Colts have been among the surprises this season with their strong outings. Indy is leading the AFC South and had a bye in Week 11 after defeating the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.

Mahomes will look to be at his best to end the Chiefs' two-game losing streak.
