Chef Tobias Dorzon, a Food Network star and former NFL player, was injured in a shooting during an apparent robbery in Maryland. Known for his Southern-inspired cuisine, Dorzon was an innocent bystander when robbers targeted a couple in the area. Fortunately, he survived the attack but required immediate medical treatment. Police are actively investigating the incident, and they have released descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle involved, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The Hyattsville Police Department released a statement on social media, stating that they were searching for five individuals involved in the November 5th incident. The police confirmed they had descriptions of four of the suspects.
“We now have descriptions of four out of the five suspects in the shooting on Nov. 5 that wounded two,” the department said in the Facebook post.
Authorities explained that the shooting occurred after a man and a woman were returning from dinner and were targeted in an attempted robbery. Both individuals were shot, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to the police. They were both transported to the hospital.
Surveillance footage from the scene reportedly shows one of the suspects hiding behind a car while the others approached the injured individuals. The footage also captured rapid gunfire and the screams of a woman.
