Pakistan pacer Aiman Anwer announces retirement days ahead of Women's T20 Asia Cup 2026

Pakistan’s 34-year-old pacer Aiman Anwer has announced her retirement from all forms of cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on August 26 confirmed her retirement with immediate effect.

Aiman has represented Pakistan in four white-ball World Cup tournaments (3 T20 World Cups, one ODI World Cup). She made her T20I debut in 2016 and ODI debut in 2017. She made her last ODI and T20I appearances in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

She was noticed first in PCB National Under-19 Women's Championship early in 2010. She represented Karachi's Under-19 side.

8 wicketless games ended career?

She has played eight ODIs, claiming four wickets at an average of 45.50. She featured in 37 T20Is, bagging 29 wickets at an average of 29.44 and an economy rate of nearly seven runs per over. He best of 3/30 against England in T20 World Cup 2020. She remained wicketless in her last eight T20I games and was eventually dropped.

What’s next for Pakistan pacer after retirement?

Since retirement, she has worked as a broadcaster. On August 24, she made her debut as match referee in the National Women's Under-19 tournament. Earlier this year, she had completed her induction course which is mandatory for the job.
