Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman proved just how deep his commitment to the city runs, literally, during the team’s Super Bowl parade on Friday. In a moment that quickly became the talk of social media, Roseman was struck by a beer can thrown by an exuberant fan, leaving him with a noticeable injury just below his hairline.

While there is no video footage of the incident, photos of Roseman’s wound quickly spread across social platforms, with the semicircular gash on his forehead serving as an unexpected symbol of his dedication. Josh Sweat, an edge rusher for the Eagles, witnessed the accident firsthand and later spoke to NBC Philadelphia about the moment.

I laughed at him a little bit when it happened, Sweat admitted. And I know he's mad at me. … When I saw it, I knew what happened, and I couldn't contain my laugh. … I did not throw the can at him. But hey, that's part of it! The fans are throwing full cans and bottles.

Howie Roseman’s commitment to Philly

Despite the sudden injury, Roseman showed no signs of letting it dampen his spirits. During his speech outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, he took the opportunity to channel the city’s resilient energy, declaring to the crowd,

I bleed for this city! Go Eagles!

His ability to embrace the situation with humor and pride only further solidified his place as one of the most passionate figures in Philadelphia sports.

Since taking charge of the Eagles' personnel decisions in 2010, Howie Roseman has been instrumental in shaping the team’s success. He played a crucial role in building the rosters for both of the Eagles' Super Bowl-winning teams. Most recently, the Eagles triumphed over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59 with a commanding 40-22 victory in New Orleans.

Roseman’s leadership has brought the city not only a championship but also a deep connection to a community that continues to support its team through thick and thin, even if that means a thrown can or two.
