'I need a break mentally': Jets' Aaron Rodgers Acknowledges That Sunday's Game Against Dolphins Could Be His NFL Swansong

Although Aaron Rodgers is yet to announce a definitive decision on his future in Football, he is aware that Sunday's game against the Dolphins may prove to be his swan song in the NFL. Addressing the situation, Rodgers told the reporters that he is "trying to stay in the moment."

Reflecting on his long career, Aaron Rodgers stated that he is proud of what he has been able to achieve on the field and will look to enjoy what's left of it.

I'll just be enjoying this, I'm trying to stay in the moment. It's been a long career. I'm really proud of what I've been able to be a part of and what I've been able to accomplish.

I need a break mentally. I don't want to make a decision until I've been able to rest mentally and physically ... I just need a break to refresh, put my feet in the sand and see where I'm at after that. March is free agency, I don't think we're going to get that far because there's going to be a regime change here with the GM and then I'll either get a call or have a conversation and go from there.

The Future Hall of Famer raised many eyebrows by calling his Jets tenure "the best two years" of his life. It came as a startling statement as his stint with the Big Apple was marred with injuries and off-field drama. Considering what he has achieved with the Green Bay Packers, those who have followed his career closely doubt that he will look back on his time with the Jets in the same way.

Rodgers is bound with a contract with the Jets for 2025, but he's well aware the team could decide to move on. During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show last week, he joked about the idea of getting cut by one of the teenage sons of team owner Woody Johnson.
