Former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce faced backlash for throwing shade at the Toronto Blue Jays vs the Los Angeles Dodgers World series. The latter won the clash, becoming back-to-back World Series Champions.
However, on the "New Heights Podcast", Jason Kelce did not mince his words while slamming the sport and the Blue Jays.
"So you're telling me I'm supposed to get excited about a Canadian baseball team and a team that just spends more money than everybody else?" Kelce said. "Who the f**k cares about either? ... That's why baseball sucks. It's the dumbest thing in the world. ... The team that spends the most money wins. It was all meaningless s**t before it happened."
After facing heavy backlash, the Super Bowl LII champion changed his stance on the situation and showcased his support for the Toronto Blue Jays.
"Guys, I love Canada, I have been bamboozled by our social team that failed to show the whole story," Kelce tweeted. "How could I not love poutine, maple syrup, and beavers!!
"I was actually rooting for the Blue Jays in the World Series that I didn't care about. Seriously, Canada is the best, I was just talking s**t about not being personally invested of caring that the team that spent the most money and built a super team won the World Series, that's it. I am a known Canada advocate and Ice Hockey lover."
Jason Kelce's brother, Travis Kelce, maintained a neutral stance on the situation. He highlighted how the Blue Jays gave their best in the World Series.
Jason Kelce reveals his family's Thanksgiving tradition
During an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Jason Kelce revealed his family's Thanksgiving tradition. He said that his wife and his mother-in-law usually take care of the cooking while discussing his mom's ritual for the festival.
"One of the traditions we started is my mom has been passing new (Christmas) ornaments on," Kelce said. "So, like, going out, cutting down the Christmas tree and putting it up and putting the ornaments on the tree. I'm trying to turn that into a tradition where we do that as close to Thanksgiving as possible."
The retired Eagles player said that he has yet to accomplish this mission. He also mentioned how he's mostly been in charge of cooking the Thanksgiving Turkey over the past few years.
