Story Highlights:

McCoy says a win over Caleb Williams would settle the Sanders vs Williams debate in Shedeur’s favour.

The former NFL star adds that GMs should be questioned if Sanders outplays the former No. 1 pick.

LeSean McCoy is making a huge claim about Shedeur Sanders ahead of the Cleveland Browns' Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. With Sanders coming up against Caleb Williams, the analyst made a risky comparison between the two quarterbacks.

In Friday's edition of the "Speakeasy" podcast, McCoy thinks the result of the game would decide the better player between the two. The podcast host has a lot of confidence in Sanders going into the game at Soldier Field after his recent appearances.

“I think if he beats Caleb Williams, I think he's better than Caleb Williams,” McCoy said. “We keep forgetting that this kid's only been starting for two weeks. He's only had two weeks as a full starter.

“I don't count the first game when he played. He ain't had no reps. He ain't know the game plan for him. That game plan was for Dillon Gabriel. Now he's in a game plan for himself, the plays he likes. Now his head coach ain't acting like he ain't Shedeur. Right now, he lets that swagger go.”

The Sunday game will mark the first time Shedeur Sanders and Caleb Williams crossing paths in the NFL, but the second time in their careers. Their only meeting came during their college football days when USC defeated Colorado 48-41 at Folsom Field.

LeSean McCoy thinks NFL GMs have to face questions if Shedeur Sanders wins

Should Sheuder Sanders lead the Browns to victory against The Bears on Sunday, LeSean McCoy thinks quite a lot of GMs have a lot of questions to answer about their decision making. Sanders was left on board until the fifth round during the 2025 NFL draft in April.

“If he beats Caleb Williams, another thing we gotta talk about, all these NFL GMs,” McCoy said. “Yeah, them. This is why we need more players in the building. You know why? Because we don't care about how he talks on interviews. We don't care about what jewelry he wears.

“We don't care about how he celebrates. We don't care who his daddy is. We want a dude that can ball and help our franchise win. And if you beat the number one pick two years ago, draft class, we look at every GM in the eye and say, ‘Yo, are you suitable for this position?’”

Shedeur Sanders will have his fourth start in the NFL for the Browns against the Bears. In his four outings this season, the rookie quarterback has thrown 769 yards and five touchdowns with three interceptions. However, he only led the team to win once in those games.
