The wide receiver for Green Bay Packers, Christian Watson suffered a hamstring injury last year and this offseason wasn't different from last year as well. He was looking to fix a leg muscle imbalance that caused soft tissue injuries.
What happened to Green Bay Packers Christian Watson?
During the Week 4 clash against the Minnesota Vikings, Watson injured his ankle in the first quarter itself. The starting quarterback for the team had just returned from injury as the Packers couldn't afford to lose another key player in their division race against the undefeated Vikings.
Christian Watson, who is featuring in his third National Football League (NFL) season, has missed nearly 29% of the games played in his professional career. However, his latest injury was something that could not have been prevented.
While playing for the Green Bay Packers this season, Watson has five catches for 80 yards.
NLF insiders update on Christian Watson's injury
Christian Watson had suffered a high-ankle sprain in the first quarter of their clash against the Vikings. Watson had gone for a catch and fell backwards, which saw his leg trapped underneath Minnesota's Kamu Grugier-Hill.
After the collision, Watson walked to the sidelines and then later on, was carted to the locker room for further evaluation. On Tuesday, 01st October, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on his X account that Watson had suffered a minor high ankle sprain. The good news for the Packers is that he isn't on the injured reserve list.
"Sources: #Packers WR Christian Watson has a high-ankle sprain, but I'm told it's a mild one, and he is "unlikely" to land on IR. That is really good news for both the Packers and Watson, especially considering how serious the injury initially appeared," Schultz on his X account.
If Watson was placed on the Injured reserve, he then had to miss four games but it seems he will make his return soon. Green Bay Packers will next take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.
