Mariska Hargitay, the beloved Emmy Award-winning star of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, recently peeled back the curtain on her experience working with pop sensation Taylor Swift. Appearing on the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, Hargitay gushed about what it was like to film the “Bad Blood” music video, calling it “so fun” and describing Swift as “warm, smart, kind, and such a boss lady.”
The 2015 “Bad Blood” visualizer remains one of the most iconic music videos of the decade, boasting a powerful lineup of Hollywood elites and runway stars alike. Mariska Hargitay shared screen time with Taylor Swift’s famous inner circle, including Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Ellen Pompeo.
"That was the most fun ever"
Reflecting on her memories from that star-studded time, Hargitay was quick to highlight the joy and sisterhood she experienced.
“That was the most fun, being in the squad with all the cool girls and supermodels,” she said. “It was the most fun ever.”
She further recalled the unforgettable night at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, where she joined Taylor Swift and her squad onstage to accept the award for Video of the Year. According to Mariska Hargitay, being part of the performance and celebration was nothing short of surreal.
Taylor Swift’s leadership left a lasting impression
While the glamour and excitement were obvious highlights, Hargitay made it clear that Swift’s professionalism and energy stood out most.
“[Taylor] was just warm and smart and kind and such a boss lady,” Hargitay shared. “I learned so much from her. That’s what I love about her. She’s so young, but she shows us in such beautiful ways how to be fearless and a boss lady.”
The admiration between the two is mutual. Taylor Swift has long expressed her fandom for Mariska Hargitay, famously naming one of her cats “Olivia Benson” after Hargitay’s legendary SVU character. More recently, the duo continued their bond when Hargitay and her daughter Amaya attended the premiere of Swift’s Eras Tour concert film.
More than just a cameo
For Mariska Hargitay, working with Taylor Swift wasn't just another gig—it was a deeply positive, empowering experience that left a lasting impact on her personally and professionally. Her story adds another layer to the global pop icon’s reputation as not only a visionary artist but also a leader who uplifts and inspires the people around her.
