Wide receivers are crucial in football, and the Auburn Tigers have a history of exceptionally talented wide receivers. Auburn University has fostered many successful wide receivers in NFL history. Shedrick Jackson, Anthony Schwartz and Darius Slaton are some of the current NFL WRs.   

In recent times, the Auburn team was ranked No. 14th in the 2024 season. The team has collected eight conference championships and has two national championships in 1957 and 2010 to date.

No. 10. Lawyer Tillman

 The former Auburn wide receiver, Lawyer Tillman, played in the National Football League for the Cleveland Browns and the Carolina Panthers.

No. 9. Freddy Weygand 

Freddy Weygand formerly played for the Auburn Tigers as a wide receiver; he has recorded 1,946 total receiving yards. 

No. 8 Darvin Adams 

Darvin Adams is a former Auburn Tigers wide receiver, with whom he managed to win the 2011 BCS National championship, and a two-time Grey Cup champion in 2019 and 2021. He was a 2010 Outback Bowl MVP and is a two-time Canadian Football League champion. 

No. 7 Frank Sanders 

The former American National Football League player, Frank Sanders, played as a wide receiver for the Auburn Tigers at the college level, where he was honored with first-team All-American awards in 1994. The Arizona Cardinals selected him in the second round (47th overall) in the 1995 NFL draft.

No. 6. Emory Blake 

Auburn Tigers’ former WR Emory Blake currently competes for the Los Angeles Rams in the National Football League. Blake has registered 2,022 total receiving yards in college. In 2011, he proved to be the only significant receiving threat outside of RB Onterio McCalebb and tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen. He recorded 36 passes for 613 yards and had an average of 17.03 yards per catch. This average was ranked as the third-best in the SEC. Blake signed a 2-year contract worth $960,000 with the Rams for 2015-16. The deal also included an average annual salary of $480,000 as per Spotrac.

No. 5. Courtney Taylor  

Courtney Taylor formerly played for the Auburn Tigers at WR. The Seattle Seahawks drafted him in the sixth round, 197th pick of the 2007 NFL draft. Taylor registered 2,098 receiving yards on 153 career receptions, including nine touchdowns, while competing for Auburn. During his four-year football career at college, he missed just one contest. He saw great times in the Tigers’ unbeaten 2004 season, where he bagged 43 catches for 737 yards with six TDS.

Seth Williams has registered 132 career receptions for 2,124 yards, including 17 career TDS. He managed to catch at least one pass in 24 contests in a row. Additionally, he had 5 career 100-yard receiving games. Williams was honored as the Ole Miss SEC offensive player of the week and the SEC academic honor roll in the 2020 season.

The former American professional football player Karsten Bailey was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 1999 NFL draft. The 6-footer has competed in four seasons for Auburn and registered 150 catches for 2,174 yards with 17 touchdowns, as per reports.

No. 2. Tyrone Goodson 

Auburn Tigers former WR Tyrone Goodson has played in five seasons for his college from 1993 to 1997. Goodson recorded 136 catches for 2,283 yards with 12 touchdowns, as per reports.

No. 1. Terry Beasley

Terry Beasley, a former professional football player passed away at 73 in 2024. Beasley's Auburn receiving records have persisted for more than half a century. The abundant pass catcher won an All-American in 1970 and 1971. He further caught 141 career passes for 2,507 yards with 29 receiving touchdowns from 1969-71, program records that remained valuable. He was introduced to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002, his famous No. 88 is one of Auburn’s three retired jerseys.
