Tough opponents for 5 teams eyeing playoff contention

New York Mets

The New York Mets see themselves in a tight playoff race and the games remaining for them will make things harder for them. Their biggest challenge this time round will be facing the Philadelphia Phillies as both teams will play seven games.

Their next challenge will be a three-game series each which the New York Mets will play against the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers. Out of the games remaining for the New York Mets is their clash against the Washington Nationals.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers are in a comfortable spot and see themselves as leaders in the NL Central. It is most likely that they will take away the division title but they have tough games ahead which can turn their playoff race upside down.

Milwaukee Brewers will face the Philadelphia Phillies in a three-game series and to make things worse, the Phillies have the best record in the league (88-58). On top of it, they will take on the second-placed NL West team, Arizona Diamondbacks in a six-game thriller.

Arizona is considered one of the main contenders. The Brewers will take on the New York Mets in a three-game series.

Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are still eyeing a spot in the playoffs but their toughest matches are right around the corner. They will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a four-game series. The New York Mets and Kansas City Royals are also set to play the Braves.

The deciding factor for their MLB playoff contention will be their next series against the Dodgers. One of the toughest challenges lies ahead for the Atlanta Braves.

Houston Astros

The hope for qualification for the postseason is still lurking in the Houston Astros fans. They might be at the top in the AL West, but the Seattle Mariners are right behind them, eyeing a chance to overtake them.

Houston Astros must face San Diego Padres as the latter team is also in contention for the playoffs. Their toughest challenge lies ahead in the form of Cleveland Guardians. The Astros will play a three-game series with the Guardians.

San Diego Padres

For quite a while, the San Diego Padres see themselves going for the playoff spot despite dealing with the fact that their key player was injured in the form of Fernando Tatis Jr. The Diamondbacks continue to give a tough challenge to the Padres.
