It's been a year to remember for Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani as he became the first player in MLB history to record 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season.

Now the 30-year-old eyes the World Series title and also the World Series MVP award

It's been a year to remember for Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani for many reasons. After signing a record-setting 10-year deal worth a whopping $700 million contract with the Dodgers in the offseason, the Japanese International has come a long way.

Can Shohei Ohtani win the World Series MVP award?

The two-time American League MVP has taken the star-studded Los Angeles Dodgers to a whole other level this season. This season also marks the historic feat Ohtani claimed after becoming the first player in Major League Baseball (MLB) history to record 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. He finished with 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases, respectively.

Because of his impressive run of performances this season, he is the frontrunner to add a National League MVP award to his kitty. However, that isn't the only award Ohtani is eyeing.

Apart from potentially winning the World Series, the 30-year-old is also the frontrunner to win the World Series MVP Award. According to the popular sports betting website DraftKings, Ohtani is considered as the favourite to win the prestigious award.

If the Los Angeles Dodgers manage to defeat the New York Yankees in a 7-game thriller, then it's hard to imagine Ohtani without the award. He has been a force to reckon with in the playoffs as he averages .286 with the bat, has three home runs, 10 RBIs, and .934 OPS.

Shohei Ohtani is enjoying his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers

After six disappointing seasons with the Los Angeles Angels where Ohtani never got the chance to feature in a single postseason game, the designated hitter finds himself in the World Series in his first year at his new franchise.

There was criticism when the Dodgers signed an injured Ohtani, but the effect he has had on the team has been something out of this world. After the Dodgers secured a spot in the World Series, Ohtani was seen enjoying in the team's clubhouse.
