The one of a kind card is from her rookie season in the WNBA. The card has her autograph and also a four word message.
769 points and counting, the message reads.
Not just this, the card also features Logowoman patch, which is the most coveted patch in the game. It is similar to NBA's Logoman cards, which are rated very highly in the memorabilia market. The card went up for auction during Fanatics Collect's July Premier Auction on Thursday, with the opening bid starting at $336,000.Â
After a number of bids, the cards reached a whopping amount of $660,000. It also broke the previous highest record of $336,000. That sum of money was paid for Clark's 2024Â Panini Prizm WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl 1/1 PSA 10 during an auction at Goldin in March. However, this card is triple the amount of that figure, making it the most expensive card for a WNBA player.
What makes this card more interesting is that it is more than the entire rookie contract of Caitlin Clark. She signed a four year deal with Fever worth a whopping $338,056, earning over $78,000 next season. It is remarkable to see how the sports memorabilia world has skyrocketed in the recent past.Â
