The Houston Rockets will be going up against Denver Nuggets in the crucial matchup on Sunday, March 23 at the Toyota Center. The main talking point for the Nuggets would be whether their star player Nikola Jokic plays against Rockets or not.

Will Nikola Jokic feature against Houston Rockets?

The three-time MVP has been listed on the team's injury report and due to that he will be missing the clash against the Rockets. He will be missing his fourth game on the trot due to a left ankle impingement. Without their star player in the squad, they have lost two of their last three games and are on a two-game losing streak as well.

Denver Nuggets head coach Mike Malone recently addressed speculation about Jokic potentially sitting out to rest for the upcoming playoffs. Malone mentioned that the call is purely based on his health as he is not 100% fit, which is the reason of his absence.

The last 10 years Nikola Jokic has played the 2nd most games in the NBA…so if Nikola is not playing, it’s not because he’s sitting, it’s not because he needs rest, Malone said earlier in the week. It's because he’s hurt & he’s trying to play through things that most wouldn't.

Jokic has missed nine games so far this season from the 71 games that Nuggets have played. Not just Jokic, but the Nuggets have a long list of injury report as Aaron Gordon (right calf injury management/left ankle sprain), Jamal Murray (right ankle sprain) and Christian Braun (left foot strain) are all dealing with injuries. They all are probable for the clash against the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Julian Strawther (left knee sprain) and DaRon Holmes II (right Achilles tendon repair) are sidelined from the clash against the Rockets.

Nikola Jokic has been averaging 29.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, 10.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game this season. The Rockets are currently placed second in the Western Conference with a record of 46-25. The Denver Nuggets are just behind the Rockets as they are third in the Western Conference with a record of 44-27.
