The 37-year-old point guard has been listed on the team's injury report, that sees him sidelined for the clash against the Hawks. Curry has been dealing with a pelvic contusion and will be re-evaluated once again on Monday. He sustained his latest injury in the 117-114 victory over Toronto Raptors on Thursday.
The Warriors further provided with a latest health update on Curry and confirmed that he didn't suffer any structural damage. He will not be traveling with the team to Atlanta.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who exited last night's game against the Toronto Raptors with 3:24 remaining in the third quarter after falling to the floor, underwent an MRI last night, the franchise said in a release.
The MRI indicated that Curry suffered a pelvic contusion, but no structural damage. He will not travel with the team to Atlanta this morning and will not play in tomorrow night's game against the Hawks. He will be re-evaluated on Monday, the statement concluded.
Following the victory against the Raptors, head coach Steve Kerr mentioned that Curry was eager to return to the court in the third quarter. But, they choose not to rush him back in order to prevent any other further injury. Their is optimism within the team that Curry's injury is not too serious and he will return to the court sooner rather than later. The Warriors are in red hot form as they have won nine out of the ten games they have played.
Stephen Curry has been averaging 24.1 points, 43. rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The Warriors currently see themselves sixth in the Western Conference with a record of 41-29. On the other hand, Atlanta Hawks are placed seventh in the Eastern Conference with a record of 33-36.
