The reigning WNBA Defensive Player of the Year has been out of action since 10 days as she is suffering from a back injury. She suffered her back injury on June 17th, when the Minnesota Lynx were playing against the Las Vegas Aces. 

According to the Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve, Collier has been dealing with a bulging disk for years. The issue with her disk has not escalated but hasn't improved either. She was questionable for the Tuesday's clash against the Washington Mystics. She went through a shootout but was downgraded to out. The Lynx registered a thumping 82-66 win against the LA Sparks on Saturday but lost to the Mystics 68-64. 

The Atlanta Dream pose a daunting challenge for the Minnesota Lynx, especially with the likes of Brittney Griner and Brionna Jones in the frontcourt, which the Lynx might struggle to deal with without Collier. The MVP has been impressive this season as she averages a league-high 24.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocks in 11 appearances. She has shot 52.4%, including 42.1% from 3. Except for rebounds and steals, all other stats are a career high for Napheesa Collier.
