The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year is suffering from a left groin strain which was diagnosed on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the morning before the game against the LA Sparks, the Fever had announced about her situation.
Caitlin Clark missed the encounter which was her sixth game during the ongoing WNBA season. Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White spoke about the extend of Clark's injury and said,
I think it's very much a day-to-day thing, and how she responds to treatment.
Not just this, White was herself uncertain that Clark would be suiting up for the Friday's clash against the Wings. She even added that Clark is a quick healer.
Clark sustained a quad strain in the same leg due to which she missed five games on the trot. She made her comeback on June 14th after 22 days and featured in five games before being ruled out on Thursday. She was also injured during the preseason, again in her left quad. However, both the quad related issues were unrelated, as per the Fever.
So far this season, Caitlin Clark has played a total of 9 games for the Indiana Fever. In those 9 games, she averaged 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. The Indiana Fever are fifth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 4-10 record to their name. Currently, they are on a one game losing streak.
