The announcement is not about his retirement, which is a relief to the fans; however, the NBA star’s admirers are angry and disappointed with him for the heart attack he gave them with the post. The video took the fans back to James' first statement regarding his move from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat as a free agent.

The recent video showed him sitting down across from another man on a basketball court, which intensified the retirement rumours. Meanwhile, it turned out to be a promotion for a drinks brand. Here’s how fans have reacted to all this announcement saga on the internet. A user wrote:

“I literally quit my job bc I was so mentally stressed about you retiring and it turns out it was all for a fucking Hennessy ad? I'm so angry at you LeBron, but I can't stop loving you anyway. I'm about to buy 10 bottles.”
