Doncic’s availability in the postseason has been limited

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Monday that star guard Luka Doncic will miss Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a lingering hamstring strain.

Doncic, who has been sidelined since early April, remains day-to-day but was ruled out for Tuesday’s contest at Crypto.com Arena, further dimming the Lakers’ hopes in a series where they trail 2-1.

Is Luka Doncic playing tonight in Lakers do-or-die NBA Playoffs Game 4 vs Thunder?

No. Luka Doncic will not play Game 4 clash between the Lakers and the Thunder.

The absence continues a frustrating stretch for the Lakers since acquiring Slovenian in a blockbuster February 2025 trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks. While the move reshaped both franchises, Doncic’s availability in the postseason has been limited, forcing Los Angeles to rely heavily on supporting cast members against a deep and athletic Thunder team.

Coach JJ Redick noted the team will adjust its game plan,  defensive intensity, and ball movement in Doncic’s stead. Doncic’s injury has significantly impacted LA’s playoff run, with many observers believing the Lakers are at risk of a series sweep or early exit without their leading scorer and playmaker. It remains to be seen if the 17-time NBA Champions play their last match of the season tonight or force a Game 5.
