Latest injury update on Jamal Murray
The point guard led the team from the front during the game, registering 28 points, but ended his night after picking up an apparent injury.
While there was initial concern, Nuggets head coach David Adelman dropped a reassuring update on Murray, which Katy Winge Later shared on X (FKA Twitter).
"David Adelman said he checked in with Jamal Murray after the game," Winge wrote. "He said he’s confident he’s okay. Did say they’ll make sure everything is okay with his hip."
Jamal Murray's impactful performance
Denver fans will be happy with the news as Jamal Murray stays one of their best players. The guard has registered 25+ points in his last three games and is averaging 25.9 ppg and 7.5 apg, the second-best return on the team after Nikola Jokic.
Murray's amazing performance also secured him his first-ever All-Star call-up, with the Canadian player named as a Western Conference reserve on Sunday.
Jamal Murray's importance in the Nuggets
With Denver depending heavily on Murray in the backcourt, keeping him fit is important at this stage of the season. The Nuggets sit third in the West at 34-19, six games behind the Thunder and just 2.5 games off the Spurs in second.
Jamal Murray says he's lost all interest in All-Star Games
Jamal Murray secured his first All-Star nomination this year and will prepare for Team World in the new format.
However, while thrilled, Murray on Monday accepted that he had lost interest in the All-Star game, while iterating the importance of playing hard in the event.
“I really lost interest in the ASG just watching whatever they were doing out there,” Murray said. “I'd rather go on vacation if that's the basketball we're going to be playing. I'm down to play one-on-one. I would like to play. I know Wembanyama will play.”
Despite his excitement about making his All-Star debut, Murray's presence came into question after he picked up an injury score on Monday night. The concern, however, seems to be a false alarm, with the guard expected to recover in time for the showcase.
