He recently gave a rare, unfiltered shoutout, naming one of his former teammates as tied for the absolute best he’s ever played with.

In a recent appearance on the "All The Smoke" podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Durant offered a revealing and unexpected take on the best player he's ever shared the court with, declaring a dead heat between Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook.
The four-time Olympic gold medalist explained his reasoning with particular emphasis on Westbrook, and said:
“It’s a tie between Steph and Russ.”
Durant continued:
“With Russ I never ever feared that he was gonna lose a matchup. That’s one thing I never worried about. Having that comfort from the point guard just made my life easier.”
The Rockets forward further added that he felt the same sense of reliability with Curry. This high praise for Westbrook highlighted the defensive tenacity and matchup-dominating presence that defined their Oklahoma City Thunder days from 2008 to 2016.
