Story Highlights:

Luka Doncic, Marcus Smart, and Jaxson Hayes expected to return as Lakers face Portland again.

LeBron James remains sidelined with sciatica; Deandre Ayton questionable due to back spasms.

The LA Lakers will lock horns with the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, November 4. It is the Lakers' second back-to-back game of the season against the same opponent.

When the two teams last faced each other on October 27, the Lakers were missing Luka Doncic, LeBron James, Marcus Smart, Gabe Vincent, Jaxson Hayes, Maxi Kleber and Adou Thiero.

LA lost the clash 122-108 mainly because of this reason. However, the Lakers could have depth on Monday. Donic, Smart and Hayes have returned from absences over the past week.

Latest update on Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves

Doncic missed three games because of a left finger and leg injury. Smart missed two games due to a quad injury. Hayes missed three games because of a knee issue. While the Lakers have yet to release the official injury report, the trio could be available for the clash.

Neither was placed on the injury report in Sunday's 130-120 win against the Heat and wrapped the game without any issues. Austin Reaves could also appear on the second night of a back-to-back. He has played all games without any injuries.

Latest update on Deandre Ayton

However, there are doubts around Deandre Ayton. The LA Lakers' marquee offseason signing missed his first game on Sunday.

Ayton faced back spasms in Friday's 117-112 victory against the Grizzlies and missed the second half. He was available to make a comeback in the fourth, but LA did not risk aggravating the injury.

Ayton was placed as probable against the Heat and was likely to play. However, the Lakers downgraded his status twice before tip off to rule him out. Coach JJ Redick disclosed that Ayton still felt some stiffness, leading to the change in his injury status.

Latest update on LeBron James, Gabe Vincent and Maxi Kleber

The LA Lakers will remain without LeBron James, Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber and Adou Thiero. James is out with Sciatica without a definitive timetable to return, while Vincent could miss up to four weeks with an ankle injury.
