Lakers hit with worrying Luka Doncic injury after loss vs Kings
In their most recent game, Doncic, after the final buzzer against the Kings, admitted to the discomfort before tip-off, which raised immediate questions about his short-term availability.
As he interacted with the reporters after the game, the former Dallas Mavericks player revealed he had been feeling the issue during warmups, and it lingered throughout the night. Doncic said:
“Yeah, I was really uncertain."
The Lakers guard continued:
“Before the game warming up, I felt something. I was just trying to get warm and get going. But tomorrow, we will see how I wake up.”
Dave McMenamin followed up by asking if the discomfort was related to his inner thigh or groin. Doncic did not give enough clarity but said that it was “somewhere in there.”With the uncertainty surrounding this, the Lakers are entering an action-packed week.
Doncic has become a pivotal part of the team ever since his blockbuster trade, which shocked the whole NBA world. The Slovenian carried the team when James missed the entire first month of the regular season and has been a leader on the scoring board.
The 26-year-old recorded 42-points and added seven rebounds, eight assists, and four steals in 36 minutes, which was overshadowed by the loss against the Kings. They are set to face the Atlanta Hawks next.
