Meanwhile, the Slovenian was asked if he would ever return to his former club after Harrison was fired. The Lakers star had a curious answer.
Luka Doncic reveals if he will return to Mavericks after Nico Harrison's firing
During a recent post-game press conference, Doncic stated that the city and the Dallas fans will always have a place in his heart, but he would rather contribute to helping his current team. The 26-year-old said:
“The city of Dallas, the fans, and the players will always have a special place in my heart.”
The point guard further said:
“I thought I was going to stay there forever, but I didn’t. … Right now I’m focused on the Lakers.”
When asked if the firing of Harrison has led to a possibility of his potential return to the club, the player replied:
"Right now I’m just focused on the Lakers,” Doncic said. “No further comments.”

Doncic’s trade to the Lakers shocked the whole basketball community. The mid-season trade of one of your best players is something no one imagined. The team is 14th in the Western Conference, losing its most recent match 114-123 to the Phoenix Suns.
