The LA Lakers came back from two straight defeats with a 110-93 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. They will now go on a road trip for a tough eight-game road trip, starting with a visit to Denver on Tuesday.
Luka Doncic reacts on a tough stretch of away games
Luka Doncic was questioned about his upcoming away stretch after the Raptors game, and shrugged off the question with a cold remark.
"The same way, we're getting paid to do this," Doncic said. "Shouldn't be any excuses. I know it's going to be a lot of travelling, but we get paid to do this and I love it."
The Lakers will spend the first three games of this away period in the Western Conference, locking horns with the Nuggets, the Clippers, and Doncic's former team, the Dallas Mavericks.
However, they will go towards the East for the remaining five fixtures, facing the Bulls, the Cavaliers and the Wizards before ending the trip with back-to-back games against both New York teams.
Their clash against the Raptors was the final home game this month as the Lakers will only return to Crypto.com Arena when they face the Philadelphia 76ers on February 5.
Luka Doncic appreciates the Lakers' defensive performances
One of the biggest negatives surrounding the Lakers this season has been their work on the defensive end. The team has failed to manage the defensive end, but displayed its best defensive performance on Sunday, during its 110-93 victory against the Raptors.
Luka appreciated his team's defense following the game.
"I think it was one of the best defensive games we had," Doncic said (Timestamp: 0:45). "You know, they scored 93 points, which is awesome. It gives us a better chance to win. So playing physical, playing fast, I think we did a great job today.
This was only the second time this season that the Lakers kept a team to double digits, a feat they will hope to repeat in upcoming fixtures.
