The Phoenix Suns are seeking a hefty return for Kevin Durant this offseason. The Phoenix Suns still have a chance to make the Play-In Tournament and, potentially, advance to the NBA Playoffs. However, it appears that it will take a miracle for them this season as they are immensely struggling, and wins have been hard to come by. As a result, the Suns may face significant changes in the near future. There has been widespread talk that Kevin Durant could be traded as part of those potential adjustments.

Kevin Durant's Asking Price Revealed

The KD era in Phoenix has left much to be desired, and both sides will get the opportunity to move on from one another. KD has only one year left on his deal after this season, and after the Suns looked into his trade options before the NBA Trade Deadline, a split between the two could make the most sense. It is unclear whether this will happen. However, there is a lot of speculation about it.

According to Suns' reporter Duane Rankin, the Suns' initial asking price for KD over the offseason will be three first-round selections and a young player. This is not an unexpected twist on the KD front, but it may eliminate many suitors out of the contention.

Given that Mikal Bridges was sold for four first-round picks last offseason, the Suns should ask for three (plus a young player). However, if KD wants to play for a contender, there aren't many competitive teams with three first-round picks to spare or ready to put them on the table. This is where a KD trade may become problematic in the coming months.
