The Golden State Warriors are seemingly considering making a big attempt to bring back Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant. With the Phoenix Suns floundering this season, trading Durant might be their best choice for rebuilding. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Suns had an agreement in place to trade Durant to the Warriors earlier, but Durant vetoed the transaction. Despite this, there is still chatter regarding a possible reunion.

Golden State Warriors to Pursue Kevin Durant

The Golden State Warriors, led by Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, are focused on winning right now. With their championship window closing, acquiring Kevin Durant could be crucial to capturing another crown. Fadeaway World recently offered a trade in which Golden State sends Jimmy Butler, Brandin Podziemski, and a first-round selection to Phoenix in return for Durant. While the Warriors have enjoyed success since adding Butler, the temptation of reuniting Durant and Curry may be too appealing to pass up.

Durant’s time with the Golden State Warriors from 2016 to 2019 was historic, resulting in two NBA championships. However, his decision to join a 73-win team was met with criticism, with many arguing that he took the “easy way out” to secure titles. Since leaving Golden State, Durant has failed to reach the same heights, not making a single conference finals appearance despite his individual brilliance.

“Joining Golden State made them invincible, but many scoffed at the notion that Durant himself earned those titles,” one analyst noted. While Durant may want to escape the Warriors’ shadow, returning to Golden State could offer him the best chance to add another championship to his legacy.
