It will be India's 250th T20I match for India

Team India is set to play their final group stage match in the Asia Cup 2025 against Oman in Abu Dhabi on September 19. Having already qualified for the Super 4s, the team will be looking to maintain their undefeated streak in the group stage.

This match in Abu Dhabi will also mark a big milestone for Team India, as it will be their 250th T20I match. They will become only the second team in the world to reach this milestone, with Pakistan currently holding the top spot with 275 matches played. After two low-scoring chases in their previous games, the team management might prefer to bat first against Oman to test their batting lineup and gain confidence before the Super 4s stage.

In their final group stage match, India's openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill will be looking to capitalise on the opportunity. While Abhishek has been providing quick starts, Gill will be aiming for a more substantial innings. Captain Suryakumar Yadav, who was in good form against Pakistan, hopes that young players like Tilak Varma also get valuable time at the crease. The middle order, consisting of Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Axar Patel, will also be seeking batting practice, especially since India could play four matches in just seven days if they make it to the final.

On the bowling side, Jasprit Bumrah's workload will be a key consideration. Team management, led by Gautam Gambhir, might choose to rest him, although Bumrah may prefer to bowl his full four overs to stay in rhythm. If he is rested, Arshdeep Singh could return to the lineup. Harshit Rana is another bowling option, and there might be a rotation between spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy. For Oman, the upcoming match against India presents a huge challenge. Their batting lineup has struggled so far, managing scores of just 67 against Pakistan and 130 against the UAE. Their top individual scores have been 27 by Hammad Mirza and 24 by Aryan Bisht. Facing India's formidable pace and spin attack will be a difficult task for their batsmen.
