Former Australia batter David Warner lavished praise on his former Indian Premier League (IPL) teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his bowling strategy ahead of the Asia Cup 2025. The Uttar Pradesh pacer has been out of India's plans for three years. Bhuvneshwar was a part of David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) from 2014 to 2024 before being released by the Hyderabad-based franchise ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction.
Warner took to Instagram to laud Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his bowling strategy during his time in Sunrisers Hyderabad, saying that there is no one quite like him.
"Another throwback, when it came to orchestrating our bowling strategy at Sunrisers, there's no one quite like @imbhuvi. I genuinely believe he ranks among the best in the game!" Warner wrote.
After getting released by SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for a whopping 10.75 crores in the mega auction. Bhuvneshwar's presence seemed lucky for the Bengaluru-based franchise as they won their maiden title in the 18th edition of the tournament, defeating Punjab Kings in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Bhuvneshwar played a crucial role in picking 17 wickets in 14 outings of the tournament. Bhuvneshwar represented three IPL franchises, including Pune Warriors India (PWI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and picked up 198 wickets in his 190 outings.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar International Career
Bhuvneshwar Kumar made his international debut in 2012 against Pakistan in a Twenty20 International (T20I) match. The swing king represented India in 229 matches, including 21 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 87 T20Is, where he picked up 63, 141, and 90 wickets, respectively. His last international outing came on November 22, 2012, in a T20I clash against New Zealand.
