The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to start from September 9 and Team India will start their campaign on September 10 against the UAE. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce India's squad on August 19. The upcoming edition of the tournament will take place in T20 format, considering the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will take place next year.

1. Sanath Jayasuriya – Sri Lanka
Jayasuriya tops the all-time run charts in Asia Cup history across both ODI and T20 formats. He has scored 1,220 runs in 25 matches at an impressive average of 53.04, including six centuries.
2. Rohit Sharma – India
Indian captain Rohit Sharma ranks second, with 1,210 runs in 36 matches at an average of 46.95. He is just 10 runs short of surpassing Jayasuriya and has scored one century in Asia Cup matches.
3. Virat Kohli – India
Close behind is Virat Kohli, who has scored 1,171 runs in 26 matches at a average of 61.83, including four centuries.
4. Kumar Sangakkara – Sri Lanka
Another Sri Lankan legend, Kumar Sangakkara, is fourth on the list with 1,075 runs in 26 matches, averaging 48.86.
5. Sachin Tendulkar – India
Indian great Sachin Tendulkar rounds out the top five. He scored 971 runs in 25 matches at an average of 51.10, including two centuries.
The eight-team tournament is divided into two Groups, A and B. India, Pakistan, UAE and Oman are part of Group A, and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong are part of Group B.
