‘Because of your accident entire team is..’: Kapil Dev wants to slap recovering Rishabh Pant for this reason

India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is on his road to recovery after sustaining severe injuries following a fatal car accident on December 30 last year which has sidelined him from cricket for an indefinite period. Meanwhile, India's legendary cricketer and 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev has showered some tough love towards his favourite Pant. He said that he wants to slap Pant as soon as he recovers from the injury as he feels that the batter's absence has left the Indian team in tatters.

India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is on his road to recovery after sustaining severe injuries following a fatal car accident on December 30 last year which has sidelined him from cricket for an indefinite period. Pant was travelling from Delhi to Uttarakhand when his car collided with a divider near Roorkee. After initially being admitted in Dehradun for a few days, the star player was airlifted to Mumbai for treatment of his injuries. The star Indian southpaw is well on his on his way to recovery as he is continuing his rehab.

 

Meanwhile, India's legendary cricketer and 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev has showered some tough love towards his favourite Pant. He said that he wants to slap Pant as soon as he recovers from the injury as he feels that the batter's absence has left the Indian team in tatters.

 

"I have a lot of love for him. I want him to recover so that I can go and slap him and tell him to look after himself. Because of your accident, the entire team is in tatters. I love him but I am also angry at him. Why do such youngsters of today's times make such mistakes? There should be a slap for it.

 

"First blessings, that he gets all the love in the world, may the almighty give him good health. First that, but after that, like parents have this responsibility to slap the children if they make mistakes," said the iconic cricketer.

 

Earlier, on Tuesday (February 7) Pant took to Instagram to provided a positive update on his road to recovery post the accident. 

 

Pant shared a picture on his Instagram story where he was spotted sitting outside and enjoying fresh air as he captioned the photo ,"Never knew just able to sit out and breathe fresh air feels so blessed".

The 25-year-old will not be featuring in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia as he need to recover more to become match ready. Pant will remain out of action for over next six months, which means majority of 2023, including this year's IPL and ODI World Cup in India.
