It was a tough day at the office for India during their fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad, but a light moment in the crowds was a light reprieve. During the last over of the match, a boy from the crowd helped the Australians find the ball after India’s Shubman Gill hit it for a six in the stands off a Nathan Lyon delivery.
It was the tenth over of India’s innings which got trapped in the sight screen in the stands. The umpires and the Australian players gave up on finding the ball and were ready to continue the match with a new ball when someone from the stands took the effort to climb onto the cloth-like screen to find the ball.
Initially, he seemed to not get the ball, but after a hard search, and to the delight of the Australians, the young man found the ball as he received a rapturous roar from the crowd. In doing so, he also seemingly tripped and fell, earning a plethora of cheers, slaps as well as smiles from the Australian contingent.

Meanwhile, after the Usman Khawaja-Cameron Green batting show on display on Day 2, India showed a sign of counterattack as they are steady on 36 for no loss at the end of day's play on Friday, March 10. Rohit Sharma (17 off 33) and Gill (18 off 27) gave India a fine start as the hosts trail by 444 runs now.
Earlier, Khawaja and Green kept the Australian scoreboard ticking as they stitched together a partnership of 208 runs kept the Indian bowlers at bay but eventually, Axar Patel, and then Ravichandran Ashwin, rescued the side but the damage was already done with the visitors scoring 480 runs in the first innings.
