Dravid’s coaching career after retirement
After retiring from all formats, Dravid took up coaching. He was the head coach of Prithvi Shaw-led Under-19 World Cup 2018-winning side. He was in charge of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, now known as Centre of Excellence. Later, he took over as head of the senior men’s team. Under his leadership, India reached the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023 final, losing to Australia on both occasions. In the following year, India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, ending their ICC trophy drought and also marking an end to Dravid’s tenure as head coach.
