India fast bowler Umesh Yadav's father Tilak died on Wednesday (February 22) evening. Tilak Yadav was unwell for the last few months and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Nagpur. Despite treatment, his condition did not prove. Eventually he was brought to his hometown Khaparkheda where he passed away.

Talik was 74 years of age. Tilak used to be a professional wrester. He hailed from a village called Pokarbhinda from Uttar Pradesh's Padrauna district. Tilak is survived by three sons and a daughter. His last rites were performed at a ghat on the banks of Kolar river.

Umesh is currently a part of India’s Test squad for Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. The 35-year-old did not get a chance to play in the first two Tests at Nagpur and Delhi as India went with two pacers on spin-friendly wickets.
