Rohit Sharma rushed to hospital after walking off the field bleeding during India vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI

India skipper Rohit Sharma badly hurt his hand and had to walk off the field after dropping Anamul Haque's catch during the second ODI between India and Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday. 

 

Anamul's bat found an edge off Mohammed Siraj's bowl and it went straight towards the second slip where Rohit was stationed. However Rohit couldn't grab a hold of the bowl and was left badly bruised and bleeding and he ended up dropping the catch. The ball dropped in front of Rohit and while trying to stop injured himself. The Indian captain was seen holding his hand in pain and it was spotted that blood was oozing out of his finger while he was leaving the field. Later, Rajat Patidar came out as a substitute while the captain was taken to the hospital for the scans.

 

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to give an update on Rohit's injury.

"India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans," BCCI tweeted.

Meanwhile as far as the second ODI is concerned, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. India skipper Rohit made two changes in the playing XI as Umran Malik and Axar Patel have been brought in as Shahbaz and injuryed Kuldeep Sen sit out of the second ODI. Kuldeep Sen complained of back stiffness following the first ODI against Bangladesh on Sunday. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him and has advised him rest. He was not available for selection for the 2nd ODI.
