Mohammed Shami makes remarkable statement for Champions Trophy selection, says 'all set to take on the world'

After a stunning performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, India pacer Mohammed Shami, whose bowling prowess was sorely missed in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, has once again made a strong statement for a guaranteed selection in the much-awaited Champions Trophy 2025. Shami, who last played for India in November 2023, is eager to make a comeback in the Indian colours.

Shami sweats out in nets

Mohammed Shami posted a video of him sweating it out in the nets. The premium pacer appeared really good and was bowling some amazing deliveries. He captioned the clip by writing 'Precision, Pace, and Passion, All Set to Take on the World! #Shami #TeamIndia'. The post is now going viral all across the social space at a rapid pace.

The good sign is that Shami has returned to bowl days before the Champions Trophy. Both BCCI and selectors have their eyes on Shami and his recovery. At the time, when Jasprit Bumrah has given India a big injury scare during the Sydney Test, his recovery can be a really good sign for the Men in Blue.

In order to get selected for the Champions Trophy, Shami is giving it his all in the nets. The pacer was previously ruled out of selection for the Melbourne and Sydney Test matches due to swelling in his left knee. After that, Shami took a hiatus and did not return to Vijay Hazare until this month.

Mohammed Shami was a big miss in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where Jasprit Bumrah took 32 wickets but lacked support from the other end. There is no update on Bumrah's injury yet. Shami's recovery and return to the Indian squad has only gotten more crucial at these times.
